Established in 2008, the Faculty of Education in Oman introduced two master's programmes in 2011 and 2014: Educational Technology and Educational Leadership.
The two programmes aim to provide learners with the contemporary scientific framework in the field of educational leadership and educational technology. Besides, to familiarise students with the theories and patterns of educational leadership and the development of educational systems by employing technology in the teaching and learning processes. The two programmes also aim to contribute to achieving the mission and objectives of the Arab Open University in spreading knowledge and human development in the Sultanate of Oman and the Arab countries. The master's programme in Educational Technology is accredited by the Centre for Inclusion and Collaborative Partnerships at the Open University, UK. Graduates of this programme are also awarded two degrees: one from the Arab Open University and the other from the Open University in the United Kingdom.
The Early Childhood Care and Education Diploma Program was also
introduced in the 2024/2025 academic year, which aims to qualify highly
qualified professional cadres to work in the field of child care and education
in the pre-school stage.
The Educational Qualification Program was introduced starting in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year to serve a broad segment of bachelor’s and licentiate degree students who aspire to join the teaching profession. The program aims to prepare them educationally, academically, and professionally, equipping them with the essential competencies required to practice teaching effectively and to meet the evolving demands of the future teaching profession in line with approved academic and professional standards.
