Dr. Hamood Al-Maqbali is an Assistant Professor at the College of Business Administration, and he is also the Director of the Arab Open University Academy of Training. Dr. Hamood began his career at Sultan Qaboos University in 1987, where he held some supervisory and technical positions at the university. He holds a BTEC Diploma in Business and Finance (1987), a BSc Degree in Technology Management (1992), an MSc Degree in Technology and Innovation Management (1997) and a PhD in the field of Technology Management (2002), all from the United Kingdom. He has experience and interest in quality management, continuous improvement, technology and innovation management, community service and continuing education, and international management standards, specifically the ISO 9001:2015, where he participated for several years as a member of the Technical Committee (ISO/TC176/SC2/WG24) in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

He conducted several training programs and workshops in the field of quality management and continuous improvement for groups of participants from government and private sectors.
