Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA)
The Arab Open University – Oman invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the Faculty of Business Studies, specializing in Management or Accounting.
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Assist in the delivery of teaching and learning activities and support faculty members in course instruction.
- Prepare supplementary teaching materials and presentations under the guidance of faculty members.
- Provide academic support to students and respond to course-related inquiries.
- Assist in organizing office hours and academic advising sessions for students.
- Participate in data collection, report preparation, and research activities related to the Faculty's academic and administrative functions.
- Contribute to the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, and student activities conducted by the Faculty.
- Support quality assurance and academic accreditation activities, including the preparation of relevant documentation.
- Maintain and organize academic records and files related to courses and teaching activities.
- Utilize learning management systems and other educational technologies, ensuring accurate data entry and record management.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the Dean of the Faculty or faculty members.
Required Qualifications and Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be Omani nationals.
- Demonstrate good conduct and professional ethics.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in one of the specified disciplines from the Arab Open University.
- Be graduates of the academic years 2023–2024, 2024–2025, or 2025–2026.
- Have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 out of 4.0.
- Hold a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS or an equivalent score in the TOEFL examination.
- Be no more than 28 years of age at the time of application.

- Copies of academic qualifications and official transcripts.
- A copy of the IELTS certificate or an equivalent TOEFL test result.
