Arab Open University lays off the foundation stone of the Building Project in the Sultanate of Oman
The Arab Open University celebrated the laying of the foundation stone for the university’s building project in the Sultanate of Oman. In the Maabilah area of the Wilayat of Seeb, which will represent a valuable addition to higher education projects in the Sultanate. The event was sponsored by Her Excellency Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal Al Saud, Chairman of the University's Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al-Zakri, President of the University in the Arab World, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Hawqani, CEO of Gulf International Construction, the project executor.
In a speech by Dr. Moosa bin Abdullah Al-Kindi, University’s Director in the Sultanate, “nations are promoted by knowledge and work, and our Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, may God preserve him, called us to join efforts to build Oman and continue its blessed renaissance, and here is the Arab Open University in The Sultanate, since it opened its doors in March 2008, has been promoting the developmental construction of Oman and taking the hands of those who wish to develop their future and make their lives better for those who have not had an opportunity in other institutions to build a society of science and knowledge in our beloved country.
Dr. Moosa Al-Kindi highlighted that more than eleven thousand students have been received by the university since its inception in order to go into higher education, and that 2,917 graduates have now graduated from the various levels and disciplines offered by the university. And now the university is strengthening its presence in the Sultanate with this building, which is designed according to the highest international standards, so that the university continues to grow, develop, and upgrade its services and facilities on the basis of international quality.
