Arab Open University (AOU) in the Sultanate of Oman Celebrates the graduation of the twelfth batch of its students in Madinat al Irfan Theatre
On Sunday, 21st of April, the Arab Open University - Sultanate of Oman- celebrated the graduation of the twelfth batch which comprised 485 graduates of diploma, bachelor's, and master's degrees. The celebration was under the patronage of His Excellency Prof. Mahad bin Said Baawain, Minister of Labour
The celebration began with presenting a short film reflected experience of the student at the Arab Open University, explaining the key skills possessed by the student and emphasizing the importance of the practical application of the knowledge acquired throughout their academic journey.
Speaking on the occasion, AOU Rector in Oman, Prof Mohammed bin Hamdan al Badi, expressed pride in the achievements of the university since its inception in 2008, highlighting the significant contribution of over 4,000 graduates to the labour market in various fields including Business Administration, English, Computing, Education, and Law. He also noted the introduction of new programmes, enhancing the university's educational offerings. The speech underscored the university's role in fostering scientific research and innovation as part of its mission to develop a knowledge-based society. This is achieved through hosting academic conferences and increasing research activities, which align with the university's continuous effort to enhance its services and contribute to sustainable development as outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
Degree certificates to the graduates in Master of Education in Educational Leadership, Master of Education in Instructional Technology, Master of Business Administration, and Bachelor and Diploma in Information Technology & Computing were distributed.
Afterwards, Prof. Mohamed Al-Zakari, AOU President in the Arab world, delivered his speech in which he congratulated the graduates and praised the noticeable role of the AOU in spreading the message of science and knowledge, pointing to the admirable achievements of the graduates.
The second part of the ceremony was the graduation of the Bachelor of Business Administration. Then, Ishraq Isaa al Fulaiti expressed profound pride and gratitude, reflecting on the transformative educational journey at the Arab Open University, acknowledging the academic, personal, and professional support from the university staff, her peers, and her family, and she emphasized the graduates' readiness to contribute to their communities and the broader goals of Oman Vision 2040 under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq.
In the last part of the ceremony, the diploma in business administration was graduated, and the bachelor's and diploma in English language and literature were graduated. The ceremony concluded with the awarding of a souvenir to the patron of the ceremony.
