The Faculty of Language Studies (FLS) at Arab Open University, Oman is looking for candidates (preferably Omani Nationals), who are passionate about teaching, research, Industry, and community engagement, to work as an Assistant Professor / Lecturer.

• Teaching undergraduate courses in Linguistics & Literature
• Conducting research in the Linguistics / Literature domains and publishing scholarly articles in reputable journals.
• Engaging actively in Industry and community activities.
• Participating actively in Faculty and University wide research and community services' activities.
• Leading or participating in developing new academic programmes.
  
   

Person Specifications- Assistant Professor

The ideal candidate must:

• Hold a Ph.D. in English Linguistics, with both Master's and Bachelor's degrees in the same field. (Preference will be given to candidates who can also teach general courses in Language and Linguistics along with Literature courses).
• Have a good command of the English Language.  
• Hold membership in any of the professional association or bodies in the field of Language and / or Literature (Preferable, not mandatory.)
• Have good number of research publications in his/her credit in reputable Scopus journals.
• Have Experience in applying and receiving external research funds.
  
  Have Minimum four years of teaching experience at the university/college level after PhD.
  
  Be capable of carrying out tasks that are Quality Assurance related.
