Dr. Dawood’s area of expertise is computer engineering. His research focuses on security, computer networks, and network analysis. He has extensive academic experience from his work at Sultan Qaboos University, where he developed and taught introductory and advanced computer engineering courses, and supervised BSc, MSc, and PhD projects. His extensive committee work included service at the departmental, college, university, and national levels. He holds a PhD and an MSc from the University of Florida (USA) and a BEng from Sultan Qaboos University.

Dr. Dawood taught many courses in the areas of computer networks, network security, and other computer engineering areas. Courses includes: digital logic design, programming, introduction to computer network, advanced computer networks, network analysis, analog and digital communication.

Served on a wide range of committees, including those at the departmental, college, university, and national levels.

• Developed, revised, and instructed a wide range of undergraduate and graduate courses.

• Mentored and supervised numerous undergraduate and graduate projects (BSc, MSc, and PhD).

• Evaluated and served as an external examiner for numerous MSc and PhD theses.
