The Legal Affairs Department at the Arab Open University comprises a select team of legal specialists with expertise in various fields, characterized by strong academic and practical qualifications. It serves as the official legal representative before all relevant courts of varying types and levels, as well as before other entities, including ministries, public institutions, official departments, and committees, in addition to private companies and individuals in all legal matters.
The department handles litigation in all court sessions, preparing and submitting legal pleadings, memorandums, and defenses, as well as issuing legal notices. Additionally, it strives to reach amicable agreements between the university and other parties.
The department also ensures that all procedures within the university comply with internal regulations and applicable laws in the Sultanate. It is responsible for drafting legal formulations for administrative decisions and providing legal advice, whether related to employees or other matters.
Furthermore, the department prepares contracts, agreements, and memorandums of understanding relevant to the university’s operations with external parties, collaborates in their drafting, and offers legal guidance on their implementation.
